About

Julien has always had a passion for film. This lead him to the University of Central Florida’s exclusive and limited access film program. After being accepted with 30 other students from a pool of 300 applicants, Julien found himself surrounded by incredibly young and talented filmmakers at UCF. While studying film, Julien found his true passion and niche for documentary filmmaking. He went on to produce, CAPSTONE, which followed 4 student filmmakers for 9 months as they produced their short film projects. He received much praise from the film community including a full two page article in the Orlando Sentinel. After graduating with a film degree, he has yet to look back, working with companies such MTV, VH1, & E!, shooting documentary programming. While working with these companies, Julien started his own production company, Merge Studios. Since then, he has innovated a new style of covering social events, applying the same techniques used to produce documentary programming. Labeling it his “reality-based documentary style,” Julien has caught the idea of many industry professionals with this new, innovative, and refreshing approach to covering social events. His documentary approach is paired with cinematic film elements stemming from passion for film and his education at UCF’s film program.

Julien has recently been awarded 2 Creative Excellence Awards by the Wedding and Event Videographers Association for work in social event coverage.
